Matches

The champion and a challenger write the same prompt in pencil and compete with a single entry each. Any writing style is welcome.
The challenger is drawn at random, with equal odds, from the applicants. The champion can't apply to their own title defense.
Web and social media votes are added together, and the higher total wins. A tie is a draw and the champion keeps the title (the defense count doesn't increase).
You can hold several titles at once. Depending on how many you hold, you earn a crown rank from Single up to Octuple Crown.

No login needed — one vote per match (one per browser). Votes can't be changed.
Writers' names and running vote counts are hidden until the result is final.
You can vote both on the web and on social media (such as Instagram). Entries A and B are the same on every platform.

Entries are photographed and submitted with this site's camera. You can't choose or edit photos.
When submitting, we ask you to confirm that you wrote the entry yourself and that it may be published if selected for a match.
The organizers check entries before publication and may reject ones that break the rules, such as printed text or photos of a screen.
Entries that aren't selected are never published.

To improve the site, we use Google Analytics, which uses cookies to collect data such as the pages you view, where you came from, your device type, and whether you voted or submitted. We never send personally identifying information (such as your email address or who you voted for).
